Emma joined The Pilates Studio as a teacher, working alongside founder Ali Townsend for several years before purchasing the studio in 2022.
With a background in dance, Emma trained at the New Zealand School of Dance, graduating with a diploma in Dance Performance, before going on to enjoy a preofessional performing career spanning more than 10 years.
Pilates has been part of Emma’s movement practice since childhood, alongside her dance training. During her professional dance career, she completed her pilates teacher training through Tiaki in Wellington, as well as a certificate in Personal Training through Open Polytechnic. She later completed a Diploma in Clinical Pilates through Breath Education.
Movement in all forms has always been a passion for Emma. Her approach to Pilates is centred around helping people move with greater ease, build confidence in their bodies and, most improtantly, enjoy movement.
Emma’s hope is that every client leaves a session feeling stronger, more connected and confident in themselves.
EMMA
It’s really important to me as a teacher, that every person feel comfortable to move their body with confidence, fearlessly and feel supported to do so. My aim is to create a space for all to feel this way. Whether you want to feel stronger, have less back pain, or to create more time for you, I would love to help you achieve whatever that may be.
